What is it? Have we as older adults lost the ability to meet each other without believing we are just to be sexual encounters for each other? Have we lost the ability to believe that love is still possible or do we cling onto past hurt and failure like an extra skin to give us a reason for lack of commitment?
It appears as though everyone is either on facebook or the single sites, hoping to meet someone but with no commitment in mind. Sure the correct thing to say on these sites is that you are looking for a long-term relationship but that isn't what begins to take place. As for myself I want an old-fashioned man who still believes that commitment and love are still things to be had and shared. I want an old-fashioned man who wants to be with just me and not every other good looking woman that may cross his path. But perseverance is not something people tend to have nowdays. Such a shame because we can either choose to be faithful to one another or not. We are beings and creatures of habit and since so many placed belief in their significant other instead of themselves, when we don't conform to the picture that significant other has of us, that's when the looking "for better" begins to happen.
We are Americans and used to instant gratification and numerous choices. From the coffee we drink in the morning to the type of clothing we wear, we have choices and so it just becomes natural for men and women to start seeking each other out until they "wear out" and we "throw them out" for new and hopefully "better".
Is this what you want out of single life? Or are you really an old-fashioned guy looking for someone to trust and support you. I believe most of us want the latter. What do you think?

Sex and after 55
I have met several men who have no problem admitting they are after sex. It appears as though most of these men have "been there and done that marriage thingie", they've been hurt, taken advantage of, had their money and homes taken from them and sometimes even their children.
Divorce is hard on both parties. Ending a relationship after being together for years can cause deep heart ache and pain. At least for the one who "didn't make the choice to separate".
And should we question why we as human beings look for the brand of coffee we like just as though these men are now the cup of coffee. There are so many beings in the sea of life and I guess we older ones realize that we've done most of the things that are there to be done so now we have a certain freedom that younger people don't have. Choosing a sex partner for one. We don't have to worry about whether they love us or not, especially if you realize you are only coming together in order to get some type of sexual release.
I really don't like being this age and single. I'd rather have a committed relationship with someone who knows how to appreciate me for who I am. I enjoy sex, don't get me wrong, and most of us do because it is a feel good. It takes us out of our heads and our problems.
Give me your feedback on dating after 55. What's it like for you? Do you maintain your distance while lining up a multitude of sexual encounters? And, is that what you really want? It will help me in making this blog a worthwhile place to visit and I would appreciate your comments. If you don't want to comment on the page, then email me at ladyinnate@yahoo.com

God what a second date
He waded through the first date just fine but the second one...his hands were all over me. I guess we really need to be aware of how we word things on dating sites. I just thought I was being funny but some of these men really take the sentence seriously as a prelude to free sex.
I stated that "Even though I may not have real teeth, I can bring one to the height of passion without them having the fear of being bitten". IT WAS MEANT TO BE FUNNY, not an invitation.
And we thought dating was hard during our teenage years? What happened to male chivalry and female shyness? Have we all changed that much or are we all just desperate. I really don't know the answer to that one.
Another thing with dating after 55, everyone believes that women are rich and younger men seem to have an affinity to that chain of thought. How many of us in this economy have money to spare and share? Most of us are out of jobs and unable to find one because of our age. It is a youth economy out there folks. I didn't have a man who left me with a meal ticket for the remainder of my life. I am self providing and even that is on hold right now.
Having left one state to go into another I find I have to start all over again at 55 and above. Do you like the dating scene nowdays? Do you want a permanent relationship? Or are you just wanting to have a free night of sex without any type of commitment at all?
I certainly wish everyone the best and hope they find what they are looking for. As for me, I think I'll wait it out and allow my creative thoughts join with God in finding a new friend for me cause I haven't done real well on my own. How about you?
